Schumacher reached his 91st win mark in his 247th Start. “I’m thinking of Michael today, I will forever have the utmost admiration and respect for you. It’s truly an honour to be mentioned in the same sentence as you”, Hamilton said after the race.
“You are rewriting the history books”, Mercedes told Hamilton over team radio. Hamilton applauded his team, “I owe it all to these guys here and back at the factory. It’s just been such a privilege working with them”. Hamilton won his 71st win with Mercedes and claim his 8th win in the season.

The Algarve circuit near Portimao would be remembered for Hamilton’s record breaking race win. “I could never have dreamed of being where I am today”, Hamilton said on his achievements.
“I didn’t have a magic ball when I choose to come to this team and partner with great people, but here I am and what I can tell you is I’m trying to make the most of it every single day”.
