Andrey Rublev claims his 5th Title this year, qualifies for ATP TOUR FINALS in London

What an amazing year for Andrey Rublev! He is in red-hot form. The Russian defeated L. Sonego  in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in final. It is his 5th title in this year and most importantly he qualifies for the ATP Tour Finals in London for the first time in his career.

Undoubtedly Novak Djokovic was the top seed of Vienna Open. He was aiming to win more and more points to continue his No.1 position till March 2021, so he can break the record of Roger Federer’s most weeks in No.1 position. He pulled out Paris but participated in Vienna to win some extra points. He started well, but unexpectedly he lost Quarter Final in straight sets 6- 2, 6- 1 to L. Sonego who is known as “lucky loser” and has more losses in his career than wins. It’s the dream match for L. Sonego, probably the match of his career. Djokovic earned  enough points and it is pretty sure that he will end up this year with No.1 position.

Dominic Thiem lost to Andrey Rublev in straight sets 7-6 (7- 5), 6- 2 in a injury affected Quarter Final. He pulled out his name from Paris Masters and eyeing for London. Hope he can recover from injury quickly and join ATP Finals where he became runner up last year. Tsitsipas, Medved also failed in Vienna, they will definitely try to boost up some confidence in Paris before ATP Finals.

But this year is completely incredible for Andrey Rublev. He is playing some beautiful tennis. Before the straight sets defeat to Tsitsipas in Roland Garros Quarter Final, he won in Hamburg, beat Tsitsipas there in 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in Final. After French Open defeat he participated in St. Petersburg Open and won there by defeating B. Coric in straight sets 7-6, 6-4, and his dream run continues to hunt in Vienna too. Now he is looking for Paris Masters where Rafael Nadal is the top seed in absence of Djokovic. Nadal is eyeing for his first Paris Master trophy, but it will be not easy as Zverev, Rublev is in his side according to draw.
