Hamilton claimed his 93rd win, Daniel Ricciardo got Podium
Mercedes wrote another
groundbreaking history, they won their 7th consecutive Constructor
World Championship in Imola, breaking the past record of Ferrari who won six
consecutive championships from 1999- 2004. Lewis Hamilton won his 93rd
F1 race, he recently broke the record of Michael Schumacher in Portuguese Grand
Prix where he won his 92nd win.
On Imola's tricky track, the
start was not well enough for Hamilton. Bottas took early lead and Max
Verstappen of Red Bull continuously gave pressure from the behind. But Bottas
was unlucky, he failed to continue his early lead because of some debris stuck
under his car and that gave him a very problematic drive. Hamilton passed away
his teammate and took a huge lead. It was
not possible for Bottas to catch him when Hamilton went extreme. But the race
between Bottas and Verstappen turned very interesting. Bottas was not in his
full flow because of the debris, some tricky moves didn’t go on his way and
Verstappen took that chance and his excellent overtake gave him the second
place in the race. But it was not all over. Verstappen lost his control during
lap 50, and his car went out of the track, a puncture with the right rear tyre turned him out from the race. Bottas brought
back his spot.
Daniel Ricciardo was very impressive. He ended
up at 3rd place. George Russell of Williams also failed to complete
the race. Daniil Kvyat ended up at 4th but his team Alpha Tauri has already
decided that they will not continue with him next season. Charles Leclerc
finished fifth but team Ferrari is not happy with their second driver Sebastian
Vettel’s effort.

If the first half of 2010s goes to Red Bull because of Sebastian Vettel and Adrian Newey then second half is purely dominated by Mercedes. Their incredible rise is the biggest thing for F1 in recent years. Hamilton is running hard, faster and faster, he has been phenomenal since he joined Mercedes in 2012. That contract was probably the turning point of Mercedes’ success. No doubt Rosberg, Bottas have enough contributions but without Hamilton, Mercedes can’t reach this state.
Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff looks
very pleased, “This is something we prod
of. We have a group that is just amazing together, we have stayed together and
pushed the benchmark to new levels”, he said at the press. And he is not
stopping here, he is looking forward “As long as we stay motivated and
energized, I think we can push it further forward.”
