Not really, chase and tag game is back, back with next level dynamics that may be you never knew or even imagined, with a new look, bringing in professionalism to this so called ‘childish sport’. Wanna try it again? Wanna show how pro are you in this game?

Presenting to you, WORLD CHASE TAG: The game you know, the reformed version you may not know about.

History: How it all started

Well, their official website says somethimg like this;

It was formed in 2011 by brothers Christian and Devaux, after a game of Tag between Christian and his son, Orlando, in their back garden.

The guys set to work on designing the ultimate course dimensions & scale of obstacles in order to perfectly balance the chase between the Evader & Chaser. This playing arena is known a Quad.

The Devaux Brothers staged extensive test sessions to experiment with the effect of changing small elements of each quad design to measure how it impacted an athlete’s ability to evade a tag. In doing so they were able to develop an ‘EQ’ calculation (a term coined by Jason Matten) which, by adding or removing certain elements of any Quad design, could tweak the level of difficulty. This has enabled them to create multiple Quad designs at a variety of sizes which can be adapted easily to switch between a professional competition standard, or to accommodate lesser abilities of amateurs & children while still delivering an evenly balanced chase.

How is it played:

·         Simple, one Chaser who chases and one Evader who evades.

·         20 seconds for each chase.

·         Successful evasion for 20 seconds gives you 1 point. If you get tagged inside 20 seconds gives you 0.

·         Whoever wins stays as evader, chaser changes.

·         If tied? Sudden death: 2 x 10 sec round, whoever takes the lead first wins it.

·         Tag must be made with hand.

·         Out of quad is counted as a tag.

·         Tag-backs and dangerous play is prohibited obviously.

Well, they have introduced varieties of forms to this sport, and as a natural consequence, various little variations in rules are there in every forms, making the sport more diverse and intriguing. Briefly summed up bellow:

·         Chase Tag: Team Chase Off- 4 players each team

·         Chase Tag: Team Matchplay- 5 players each team

·         Chase Tag: Singles Matchplay- 2 athletes

·         Chase Tag: Singles Sudden Death Chase Off- 2 athletes

·         Chase Tag: Fight Club- 2 or more players playing singles winner-stays-on

·         And finally: ULTIMATE TAG MULTIPLAYER- 4 x 40 second rounds; 4 athletes in each round
