Allegations of racism surfaced against Yorkshire cricket team

Again, the allegations of racism came to fore in cricket. Former off-spinner Azim Rafiq has made this sensational claim. He has recently opened his mouth on this issue. He said Cheteshwar Pujara was a victim of racism while playing county cricket for Yorkshire. Rafiq himself also has been the victim of this behavior while playing for Yorkshire, which has led him to suicidal thoughts. He added that they used to make such bad comments with Asian cricketers in the Yorkshire dressing room that it affected their game as well.

Rafiq said that Pujara was called 'Steve' there because they could not pronounce the name Cheteshwar. Pujara later said this on the show 'Breakfast with Champions'. But he had no such argument in this regard. Rafiq also said that Asian cricketers were also referred to as taxi drivers or restaurant waiters in Yorkshire.

Former Pakistan pacer Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and West Indies pacer Tino Best fully supported Rafiq's statement. Former Yorkshire coach Tony Bauri has said that junior cricketers are too scared to go to the dressing room. They could not get along well with the seniors. It was used badly with players other than white. Whose influence was felt in their game. But till now Pujara has not yet received any opinion on all these matters.

After this sensational allegation of Rafiq, the Yorkshire authorities have informed that they will investigate the matter. Officers will also be appointed on their behalf to monitor racist behavior.
