INDIA COMES BACK IN THE 2ND TEST BRILLIANTLY

IND vs AUS, 2nd TEST- 4th DAY, MCG

Aussies resumed their 2nd innings from 133-6 on the 4th day of the 2nd test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Indian bowlers bundled them in the next 67 runs as Baggy Greens went to back to the pavilion with just 69 runs ahead.

It was an easy job for the Indian batsmen though Mayank Agarwal (5) got back to the dressing room as Mitchel Starc dismissed him and Cheteswar Pujara (3) was dismissed by Pat Cummins. After that debutant Shubmann Gill (35*) and Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane (27*) finished the task in a smooth way.

The series become 1-1 now, Indians truly comeback really well after that devastating batting in the 1st test. Rahane led the team very well and it was a well-deserved win for his team. The skipper led the batting from the front and Gill gave a worthy companionship, also Ravindra Jadeja did his job with utmost sincerity. From the Aussies side Wade, Green and Labuschagne tried hard although Aussie bowling was not as per in front of the Indian batting line-up.

Indian Skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who was also awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ said, “Really proud of all the players. Played really well. Want to give credit to the debutants Siraj and Gill, the character they showed after the Adelaide loss was great to see. Character was important for us, especially after losing Umesh in the second innings. That (five-bowler plan) worked well for us nicely. We were thinking of having an all-rounder and Jadeja has been brilliant for us.”

The Aussie skipper Tim Paine said, “Pretty disappointed. We played some poor cricket, sloppy cricket for a major part of the game. Credit to India, they forced us into mistakes with the bat, ball and also on the field. And when you do that against a quality team, it costs you. But again, need to credit India as they put us under pressure. We have issues with the batting and need to get it sorted.”

The 3rd test seems to be more exciting and a good performance is expected from both the sides. It will hold on 7th January, 2021 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, live from 5:00 a.m. For further updates please get in touch with us.
