CATCH MISS CREATES A PRESSURE ON INDIA ON RAINY FIRST DAY

Report card of 3rd test , Day 1 , Sydney  

    The historic pink test’s first day was totally disrupted due to heavy rain and only 55 overs are played. Both India and Australia showed good performance but the me silly mistakes of Indian keeper Pant definitely set them back foot.

    Batting first Australia loss Warner very early on just 5 runs. Mohammad Siraj carried his consistency same way in his second test and his wonderful spell send Warner the most dangerous man into pavilion. After the 7 over the rain sets in. After the rain brake Marnus Labuschagne and debutant player Louis Pukovoski slowly but surely carries the innings . The mistake came from Pant, as he missed an easy catch of Labuschagne and later Pukovoski. Ashwin will really disappointed as he bowled really well the ball. Pukovoski played a very good half century. After Siraj Navdeep Saini the new debutant also showed his pure quality by dismissing the set debutant Pukovoski. After Pukovoski’s dismissal Smith and Labuschagne played their part and ended the day on 166/2 . Rain snatched almost 35 overs on day 1. 

  The bowling attack of India in this series is very promising and it is the time to see how the bowlers stopped them within 300 or 350. But the matter of headache is the keeping of Pant. It is SCG the very ground where youngster Parthiv Patel missed easy catches of Steve Waugh and which caused the Aus Vs Ind test series 2004 into 1-1 draw. The match was almost in hand of Dada’s army but the mistake of Parthiv caused a draw finished than winning the series. I am not compare Pant with Parthiv but his keeping reminds me the 16 years old SCG tragedy. The following day is important to see the batting of India . Pant made an wonderful 169 on SCG test 2018 /19 tour and it is the time to see whether Pant will follow his legacy of pinch hitting ton in test.
