SMITH JADEJA GILL MADE THE DAY 2 MORE NAIL BITTING

Report card of AUS VS IND TEST 3 DAY 2

The Aussies carry forward their wonderful batting in Day 2 also . Marnus Labuschagne played really well as he was consistent throughout the series. Its a bad luck that he missed his 100 for just 91 runs . But after this dismissal was very very vital for India to prevent a large burden of 400/450 runs .

Wonderful bowling of Jadeja caused the dismissal of Marnus and Australia did not able to make a good partnership after this dismissal . Steve Smith was not in form on this series but at least in SCG he became the sole saviour of Australia. Today he not only cracked an wonderful hundred but also saved Australia from outmost destruction of middle order. The whole responsibility will definitely go to Sir Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah because this two attacking bowler was totally successful to stop Aussies within 338. In the whole lower and middle order only Mathew Wade and Mitchell Starc scored two figures of 13 and 25 . Smith alone scored 131 and did not get the support from the others. The best part of the match was definitely the wonderful running of Smith by Jadeja which will definitely remind the run out of Inzamam UL Haq by Jonty Rhodes in WC 92.

Chasing 338 Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma made a solid start after a long time India crossed 50 runs opening partnership in Aussie soil. But wonderful spell of Hazelwood send hitman to pavilion on 26 but still 70 runs opening partnership in this series . Shubman Gill played outmost responsibility and scored a very well half century . He made his maiden 50 which he missed for just 5 runs in his debute. Just after making the 50 Gill was caught out by Pat Cummins when India was on 85.

After the dismissal of Gill ,Skipper Rahane and Test specialist Pujara added only 11 runs on the board but it was worthy that this 11 runs were scored by facing 13 overs. Both this two batsman showed very defensive and slow batting. It will be boring they continue this tradition in next day . But still at the end of the day India is on 96 and 242 runs behind and in this condition a 100 or 150 runs partnership is must to make a good lead in 1st innings.

So the day was good for India except the slow batting at evening session and the bowling of debutant Saini who spend 5 .00 economy rate which is very bad for test. But we have to project more and more him in positive way because it is not easy to make a world class bowling in first series when the opponent is Australia.

Let’s see what happens next.
