Kagiso Rabada needed 3 wickets to reach the milestone. Two openers Abid Ali and Imran Butt were sent back on the first day of the Karachi Test against Pakistan. He could not take any wicket on the second day. Finally, on the morning of the third day, Protea pacer reached the target by bowled out Hasan Ali. In the 44th Test of his career, Rabada reached the milestone of 200 wickets.
Rabada became the third fastest bowler in South Africa to take 200 wickets in Test matches. However, in terms of age, he is the youngest Protea star to whom this feather is added. Overall, Kagiso is the fourth youngest bowler in Test history to take 200 wickets.
Rabada is the eighth highest wicket-taker for South Africa in Tests. Dale Steyn is number one on the list. He has taken 439 wickets in Tests. Shaun Pollock (421), Makhaya Entini (390) and Alan Donald (330) are in the next three places respectively. Morne Morkel (309), Jacques Kallis (292) and Vernon Philander (224) have taken more wickets than Rabada. Rabada took 200 Test wickets off 8154 balls.
